## What XDC is (for builders)
- EVM-compatible L1: Solidity, Foundry, Hardhat, ethers/viem work unchanged
- Consensus: XDPoS (delegated proof of stake, masternodes); client: XDPoSChain (geth fork)
- Fast blocks (~2 s) and low fees; common use: trade finance, RWA, payments

## Things that differ from Ethereum
- EVM level: mainnet is at **Cancun** rules; set `evm_version = "cancun"` in foundry.toml
- Prague (incl. EIP-7702) not yet on mainnet (module 04)
- Explorers show addresses with `xdc` prefix; on-chain they are normal `0x` addresses
- Native token XDC pays gas (18 decimals)
