01 Intro to XDC Network

What XDC is (for builders)

• EVM-compatible L1: Solidity, Foundry, Hardhat, ethers/viem work unchanged
• Consensus: XDPoS (delegated proof of stake, masternodes); client: XDPoSChain (geth fork)
• Fast blocks (~2 s) and low fees; common use: trade finance, RWA, payments

Networks

Verified 2026-10-21 with cast chain-id --rpc-url <rpc>.

Things that differ from Ethereum

• EVM level: mainnet is at Cancun rules; set evm_version = "cancun" in foundry.toml
• Prague (incl. EIP-7702) not yet on mainnet (module 04)
• Explorers show addresses with xdc prefix; on-chain they are normal 0x addresses
• Native token XDC pays gas (18 decimals)

Try it (read-only)

cast block-number --rpc-url https://rpc.xinfin.network
